HOW TO QUICKLY CLEAN KITCHEN CABINETS FROM GREASE

We spend a lot of time in the kitchen. We prepare food there, have dinner with our families, or just relax with a cup of tea. Of course, we want the house, the place where we live, to be tidy and clean. However, we do not always have time for general cleaning. Sometimes we don’t even have time to rest.

Therefore, in this article, we will tell you how to clean the kitchen cabinets from grease at home. All methods will not take more than 5 minutes. Thanks to these secret methods, you will be able to quickly and efficiently remove and wash grease from all surfaces!

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF DIFFERENT FACADES?

Before cleaning facades, it is important to determine exactly what products and materials can be used for cleaning and what should be avoided. We will analyze the most popular types of facades and discuss their specifics, and you will learn what you can use to clean them)

Glossy/film facades

This material really looks incredibly beautiful. However, behind the beauty lies certain rules that should be followed (if you want to keep the surface safe and sound).

The glossy facade should not be

  • wash with pure alcohol;
  • wash with alkaline substances (soda);
  • clean with a hard sponge;
  • wash with boiling water/hot water.

We are voicing and reciting these rules because later on, there will be methods that are not quite suitable for this facade and that will not be able to remove grease.

Wooden facades

Incredibly beautiful, but problematic to clean. Not only can the wood not be intensively wet, but it also cannot be washed with chemicals that are supposed to help remove grease stains.

This material can be cleaned with hard sponges because it is scratch-resistant, but do not forget about delicacy. The downside is that the wood absorbs grease very quickly. Over time, it becomes more difficult to remove, so you need to react quickly. As for home methods, you can use anything. Anyone can remove and wash grease stains.

Glass

One of the most uncomfortable. They leave stain marks and collect grease more quickly.

It is better to remove stains from glass surfaces with baking soda, vinegar, and alcohol. Therefore, several methods that we will present below are suitable for glass surfaces. Rags should be used only for cleaning glass, no other.

We’ve discussed how to clean kitchen cabinets and now we’ll move on to home methods.

CLEAN KITCHEN CABINETS AT HOME

There are several methods for getting rid of grease on cabinets and other kitchen surfaces. Read carefully about each of them and remember to test the product on a small piece. This way, you will be sure that you will not spoil the kitchen and will be able to clean the surface safely.

96% ALCOHOL – TO CLEAN GREASY STAINS

Let’s start with the most effective one. Alcohol perfectly removes traces of grease from the surface, and it does so in a matter of minutes. In just 10-15 minutes, the cabinets will shine and radiate cleanliness!

It is important to take 96% alcohol. Also, don’t forget that not every facade can be cleaned with alcohol (read above). First, wipe the surface from moisture and crumbs.

To quickly clean the lockers from grease, take:

  • 96% alcohol and water – mix 1:1 (i.e. equal amounts of water and alcohol);
  • Pour the mixture into a spray bottle or use a basin for convenience;
  • dip a microfiber cloth into the solution and start gently scrubbing the surface (do not scrub aggressively, just gently wipe the countertop and cabinets);
  • leave it on for 10 minutes;
  • rinse with warm water.

At the end, go over the surface with another, dry cloth. This way you will remove the remaining moisture and will be able to wash the remaining stains.

RAKE

An unusual and new method that has not been heard much. People keep silent about the effectiveness of baking powder because it is profitable. And that’s because then the sale of chemicals will drop and everyone will start using this wonderful tool, and it’s very cheap.

Baking powder really works wonders on old and dirty surfaces. It can also clean the tops of kitchen cabinets. Yes, it can remove grease even from there. Let’s not delay and proceed to the cleaning steps.

The first thing to do is mix a packet of baking powder with 2 tablespoons of water. You should get this foam. Wait for 2-3 minutes for the composition to infuse, and then you can start washing and cleaning.

Use a dishwashing sponge and start scrubbing the grease stained areas. Leave the composition on for 10 minutes and then rinse with warm water. The emphasis is on warm water, as it helps clean the surface of the grease.

The effects should be visible immediately. This product is the most gentle and helps to remove even the oldest fat stains. Let’s move on to the next home method. It can also be used to clean grease stains in a cool way)

BAKING SODA + VINEGAR + DETERGENT

An excellent combination, as experience shows. This option is not suitable for all types of facades, but it will be effective for steam. It is best to make sure and test the method before using it on a small piece of surface.

How to clean kitchen cabinets from grease with this mixture:

  • take 50 grams of baking soda (this is the proportions for a small part of the surface, for example, 2 cabinets);
  • add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to it;
  • You should get a slurry to which you need to add detergent;
  • mix to a paste and start cleaning the cabinet with it; make soft and smooth movements, no friction;
  • leave the paste on for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

The product works really well and quickly removes greasy marks. Besides, it is cheap and can be found in every home.

HOW TO CLEAN KITCHEN CABINETS: DISHWASHING TABLETS AND AMMONIA

The last and final home method to remove grease from your cabinets. All you need is to take 2 dishwasher tablets. Then, dissolve them in boiling water and add 2 tablespoons of ammonia. Wait 5-10 minutes for the water to cool before pouring in the alcohol. If you pour in immediately, an unpleasant and pungent odor may result.

Add the detergent and mix. After that, all you have to do is soak a glass cleaning cloth with this solution and start removing grease. You don’t need to leave the solution on, just clean/scrub the surface, then rinse with water and wipe dry.
